Sweet Lightning

Mountain Dew was launching a brand new Dew exclusive to KFC called Sweet Lightning. To introduce this new Dew we created a character named Sweet Lightning whose sole mission was to impress the Colonel and be welcomed into the KFC family.

The campaign began with a little flirting between both brands on Twitter. A series of cryptic tweets teased the collaboration between Mountain Dew and KFC and hinted that Dew had the perfect pairing for the Colonel’s finger lickin’ good chicken.

We then released a teaser video showing Sweet getting ready for his big meeting with the Colonel. We even teased the meeting and product with a True Detective style vision board in Sweet’s house filled with easter eggs and clues.

We then released a long-form launch spot of Sweet and the Colonel meeting for the first time.

And then we continued to engage fans on KFC and DEW’s channels with social.
